Ministry Director: Karina Smith

Mission Statement:

To assist the YWAM Lingira clinic to promote physical and spiritual health in marginalized communities through sensitization, counseling and holistic care; especially for HIV/AIDS.

     As Karina worked in the clinic she helped re-open on Lingira Island, her heart was burdened by the chronic issues she continued to see. As she treated the same illnesses, day by day, for the same people, month by month, she began to cry out to God for real answers that would treat the root cause. The two biggest issues were diarrheal diseases caused by poor sanitation and filthy drinking water, and STD’s, especially HIV.

     It is our desire to support and network with organizations and individuals to improve access to, and quality of, healthcare available on the islands, especially for HIV/AIDS victims. The goals below give somewhat of a timeline for this ministry.

2010 Goals for Healthcare:

Instigate and assist in the development of HIV/AIDS care and prevention programs and support groups through local church and civic leaders
Tell the world the true conditions of HIV/AIDS on the islands
Facilitate a bi-annual motivational and educational conference
