LLHSS 2008 students

LLHSS is now a registered boarding school with about 120 students. They have reached their maximum occupancy until more dormitories can be built. Because of the deep poverty of the island villagers, the kids’ school fees really only cover their food and a few incidentals. The builk of the funding- teachers’ salaries, for example, must come through donations.

A ministry of Deliverance Church, Lingira Island, Uganda

From its inception, Lingira Living Hope Secondary School (LLHSS) has experienced the miraculous power of God to provide staff, students and funding.  The idea of a secondary school was first raised December 29, 2005.
Just over one month later, February 6, 2006, classes were opened.

The year ended with 10 teachers and 52 students in S1, S2 and S3 classes.  Reports from both teachers and students indicate a favorable environment for spiritual, academic and social development.

LLHSS began its second year in February 2007 with 11 teachers and an expected enrollment of approximately 90 students. As of the beginning of March, 99 students were enrolled.  The S4 class was added this year with nine students presently attending.  Boys and girls have moved into their new hostels. 20 more sets of bunkbeds were purchased and the kids eagerly moved their mats off the mud floor. Six rooms for teachers have been completed and occupied. We are currently researching laboratory equipment. Funding for the school comes through student fees and primarily via donations.

From the beginning, the vision of LLHSS has been to instruct and influence students so they may be challenged academically and spiritually and in turn positively impact their communities and nation.
